Emily Brontë (1818-1848) was an English novelist and poet, best known for her only novel, Wuthering Heights, a classic of English literature. Born in Thornton, Yorkshire, Emily was one of the famous Brontë siblings, which included her sisters Charlotte and Anne, both accomplished writers. Despite her short life, Emily’s work has left an indelible mark on the literary world. Wuthering Heights, published in 1847 under the pseudonym Ellis Bell, is renowned for its complex narrative structure, dark romanticism, and exploration of human emotions and social issues. Emily’s poetry, though less well-known, also showcases her profound talent and depth of feeling.
