About Khaled Hosseini

Khaled Hosseini is an acclaimed Afghan-American author and physician, best known for his poignant and evocative novels that explore the human condition and the complexities of life in Afghanistan. Born in Kabul in 1965, Hosseini moved to the United States in 1980, where he later pursued a career in medicine. His debut novel, The Kite Runner (2003), became an international bestseller and was adapted into a successful film. Hosseini’s subsequent works, including A Thousand Splendid Suns (2007) and And the Mountains Echoed (2013), have further cemented his reputation as a master storyteller. In 2018, he published Sea Prayer, a beautifully illustrated short story inspired by the tragic plight of refugees, particularly the Syrian refugee crisis.
