About Frank McCourt

Frank McCourt (1930-2009) was an acclaimed Irish-American author and educator, best known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning memoir, Angela’s Ashes. Born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Limerick, Ireland, McCourt’s early life was marked by poverty and hardship, experiences he vividly recounted in his writing. After returning to the United States, McCourt spent decades as a high school teacher in New York City, where he inspired countless students with his passion for literature and storytelling.
