About J.M. Barrie

J.M. Barrie (1860-1937) was a Scottish novelist and playwright best known for creating the beloved character Peter Pan. Born in Kirriemuir, Scotland, Barrie showed an early interest in literature and went on to study at the University of Edinburgh. His career as a writer took off with the publication of several successful novels and plays, but it was the creation of Peter Pan, first introduced in the 1904 play Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up, that cemented his legacy. The story of the boy who could fly and never grew up captured the imaginations of audiences worldwide and has been adapted into numerous films, stage productions, and other media. Barrie’s contributions to literature and the arts have left an indelible mark, and his works continue to enchant readers and audiences of all ages.
