About John Bunyan

John Bunyan (1628-1688) was an English writer and preacher best known for his allegorical work, The Pilgrim’s Progress. Born in Elstow, Bedfordshire, Bunyan came from a humble background and worked as a tinker before becoming a prominent figure in the Puritan movement. His deep religious convictions led to his imprisonment for unlicensed preaching, during which he wrote much of his most famous work. The Pilgrim’s Progress, published in 1678, has been translated into over 200 languages and is considered one of the most significant works of religious English literature.
